To be or not to be…

That is the question!  Year 7 have had a very enriching experience this week, delving into different Shakespeare plays, examining plot lines, developing their acting skills and producing some excellent show case pieces of their own interpretations of the works. My thanks to Mrs Tolley and Miss Howard for their tremendous input into our very first “Shakespeare Days” at Light Hall and very well done to year 7.

I have had the pleasure of lunching with a number of students this week. On Tuesday the senior prefects and I had a working lunch – planning next half term’s charity events and prize giving as well as discussing how their duties have gone this half term.  We really are incredibly fortunate at Light Hall to have such dedicated young people who are willing to serve their school community so well; they are an inspiration to the younger years in school.

On Thursday I had a celebration lunch with a group of our students who had been chosen by their Heads of Year for recognition for their significant contribution to school life. It was a delight to chat to them about their first half term this year and to hear about their plans for the forthcoming half term break.

All our students have worked incredibly hard this half term. Hundreds of merit certificates have been given out this week and many are well on their way to achieving the coveted braids for their blazers. Heads of year will be celebrating achievements in assemblies next half term.

Now it is time for a little well earned rest and relaxation. My best wishes to everyone  for a happy and fulfilling half term break.
