Celebration and hard work
All students have returned from the half term break with a very positive attitude to their work and study. Year 11s are busy preparing for their mock examinations. Many of the year group assemblies this week have been celebrating all the rewards students have already gained in the first half term of the academic year.
The house competitions have begun in earnest and all students are now preparing for our charity week at the end of November. We will be raising money for Children in Need next week with our “wear an accessory in your house colour” competition.
I am also looking forward to seeing our talented actors perform Macbeth at the Crescent theatre in Birmingham, as part of the School’s Shakespeare Festival. I know that our students have been working very hard with Miss Howard and Mrs Wyatt to perfect their performance.
I have had the pleasure of seeing several students this week to congratulate them for achievements. The following students have entered their names in the Golden Book: Lottie T, Lucy H, Tom P and Fatima A for active citizenship, Ashleigh S for excellence in biology and Morgan H for representing the school so well in music. Very well done to all these students.
My best wishes for a relaxing weekend.
