Back to work and a visit from a High Court Judge!
It was a pleasure to return to school after the Easter break. Our students have settled back down to hard work immediately. Year 11s worked hard over the Easter, coming in to revision classes virtually every day of the holiday. Very well done to them for showing such commitment and my sincere thanks to all the staff who gave up their time to support our students. The examination season has now begun, with many of the practical exams, taking place over the next few weeks. Our best wishes to year 11 as they enter this exam season, we hope that all their hard work pays off.
We had the privilege of welcoming a high court judge to school this week. The honourable Mr Justice Dove gave an inspiring talk to students from all year groups who are interested in a career in law. Our students quizzed him on a variety of topics and even entered in to their first legal debate. We clearly have some lawyers of the future in our midst. My thanks to Sir Ian for such an inspiring afternoon.
I have had the delight of meeting many students to sign the Golden Book this week, they include: Alysha B, Sukpal K, Harpal K, Imogen F, Evie T, Ella D, Hannah H, Isabelle M, Hannah D, Freya B, Sidnie H, Evie M, Evie B, Katie H, Emma C and Paige E for their excellent performances in dance, Maya S for excellent work in geography, Joe H for his outstanding swimming performance and Joao F for excellent work in speaking and listening.
Many congratulations to all these students and my best wishes for the weekend.
