Love Of Learning
It has been an excellent week, both in lessons and around school at break and lunchtime. All students have settled down very well to hard work; I have seen some dynamic investigative work in science lessons, listened to searching discussions in RE and witnessed the enthusiasm and considerable effort of our year 7 students as they begin learning a new foreign language – their Spanish is already much better than mine!
Activity does not stop at 3.00pm. Many of our extra –curricular activities have begun this week and I have been impressed by the number of students who have signed up to take part in them – demonstrating our core value of active participation. My thanks too, to all the staff, who are giving their time to run the events.
It was a real pleasure to meet so many of our parents at the year 10 and year 11 information evening last night. Our upper school students are embracing the exciting challenges facing them over this year and next. Their parents are now well equipped to support them through this important time, together with the relentless support of our teachers.
I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable weekend.
