Another Busy Week!

Our students have been excelling in extra curricular participation this week.  Over 80 students have begun their rehearsals for our summer production of “The Wizard of Oz”. There are many lines to be learned and practised!

Our dancers gave another excellent performance at the borough dance festival on Monday. We hosted the borough cross country competition on Wednesday and a number of our students ran very well. Our musicians performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool on Monday and thoroughly enjoyed the “Beatles experience”.

Perhaps the most heart warning event was the charity football match, organised and played by our year 8s to raise money for leukaemia research.

Very well done to all students who have taken part in so many activities and thanks to all the staff who have helped to make these events happen.

House assemblies this week have launched the planning for our charities week 3rd to 7th April. I never cease to be amazed at the ingenuity and entrepreneurship our students show, when they are tasked with doing something for other people. I am very much looking forward to seeing what each form and house comes up with this year.

My thanks to all parents for their continued support of Light Hall, our values and aims.  Students’ uniform is looking very smart.  Mrs Burnham, Miss Johnson and Miss Latham have given our year 10  and 9 girls advice on what “subtle” make-up means.  We would be grateful for parents’ support in this.

I have had the pleasure of congratulating the following students for their excellent work in English: Ross B, Sam W, Simran K, Nish K and Lani G. They have all signed the Golden Book.

My best wishes for a restful weekend.
