A Hive Of Activity – Learning, Activity & Enthusiasm!
The term is well underway and Light Hall is a hive of learning, activity and enthusiasm. In my visits to lessons and tutor time this week I have been impressed by the way our students are “getting stuck into” learning challenges from the minute they walk through the door - the numeracy tasks this week were certainly thought provoking and it was very good to see students explaining confidently to their tutors how to tackle certain problems! Many students are in the process of completing their mile stone assessments for their different subjects and I have been greeted with explanations of how the digestive system works, long, beautifully pronounced complex sentences in Spanish and findings from some excellent detective work in year 7 history lessons.
The learning, activity and enthusiasm continues well beyond the school day with many students staying to take part in the huge variety of extra curricular activities on offer. As well as all the sporting opportunities, auditions have taken place for our whole school production of “Joseph and his amazing Technicolor dreamcoat” and the cast list has been published. We are all looking forward to the production in February.
Our year 11 students are heading to Cannock Chase this weekend to complete their Duke of Edinburgh expedition – let’s hope the sunshine continues for the next few days at least!
My best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
