Light Hall Supports “Children In Need”
I have been very proud of our students this week, not only have they continued to show real focus in lessons but they have behaved impeccably in some very challenging weather at break and lunchtime. The vast majority have participated in our Children in Need appeal, wearing brightly coloured or patterned socks or tights today and making a donation for the privilege of doing so. Well done to everyone for entering into the spirit of the day and demonstrating our core value of care for other people.
Churchill Hall and the Jill Allport Suite were buzzing last night with the year 11 parents’ evening. It was delightful to see so many parents there and to hear how hard year 11 are working. Keep it up!
Our recycling campaign is well under way and it is great to see so many students sorting their rubbish and putting it in the correct bin. The school site is beginning to look tidier by the minute.
We are all very much looking forward to prize giving next Thursday evening. I have had the delight of meeting many students this week to sign the Golden Book. The following students are to be commended: Kyle Storor and Sophie Buss for excellent progress in maths, Mariam Minhas for outstanding work in history, Suleman Zia for excellence in geography, Barak Hussain and Olivia Thorpe for excellent progress in English and Libby Smith, Arthiha Sarma, Aisha Mughal, Edward Tuersley, Luke Mears and Luke Dellenty for their fantastic music.
Very well done to all of these students and my best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
