Despite the very long term, students are continuing to work very hard. The year 11s are preparing for their mock exams; revision and catch up sessions are in full swing. It was wonderful to see so many of last year’s year 11 last night as they came to collect their GCSE certificates. We had the opportunity to chat, catch up with what they are now doing and enjoy a cake and a cup of tea.
Light Hall students have continued to be very successful outside school as well as in school. In the sporting field, Hannah Pettigrew in year 9 has been selected for the Warwickshire U15 Cricket squad. Many congratulations to Hannah.
Jack Wilkes in year 11 will be representing the UK in Madrid next week, following his excellent presentation at the Skills Show at the NEC. He has already been commended by the World Skills Foundation for his for the way he has demonstrated his strong interest for learning and his pursuit of excellence in his chosen field. We are delighted for both Hannah and Jack.
Charlotte Smeulders, Noori Suleman, Hannah Jesse and Amy Cartwright have all been to sign the Golden book this week. Charlotte for her success in toe by toe, Noori for outstanding work in maths and Hannah and Amy for their achievement of the bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.
Very well done to all of them.
Best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
