The Season Of Goodwill

The Christmas trees are up, decorated and looking beautiful in Churchill Hall and reception, rehearsals are well under way for the Christmas concert and we are all on the countdown to the Christmas holidays. However, hard work and complete focus on study  still continues.  Many students are completing their end  of unit assessments in their subjects and the year 11s are preparing for their mock exams.

The most inspiring thing in all of this, is that, amidst all the hard work and excitement, Light Hall students are still thinking of others. At the senior prefect meeting yesterday our head prefects asked if they could set up a food collection (non perishable items) for people who are much less fortunate than ourselves and they are now busy organising this amongst the year groups.  In addition to this, so many prefects helped organise and run the year 7 and 8 disco last night, which was a fabulous event and enjoyed by all.

My thanks to them and everyone who has been involved in these activities this week. They are living out our core values of care and respect in their actions.

Golden Book entries this week include Jamie McLachlan, Matthew Dunbar and Nicholas Holt for excellent contributions to learning in geography and Ben Atkins for outstanding performance in history.  Very well done to all of these young gentlemen.

My best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
