A week of celebration, achievement and success…

A week of celebration, achievement and success…

It has been a tremendously busy week at Light Hall and we have had much to celebrate and enjoy.  Our fantastic production of “Joseph and his amazing Technicolor dreamcoat” was enjoyed by everyone. It was wonderful to see so many of our younger students involved in the show and enjoying the performance as much as the audience. My thanks to Mrs Wedderburn, Miss Howard, Mr Johnson and Miss Davies for all the time and support they have given to our young people to enable them to give such an outstanding performance.

Our public speaking team – Hanees Ahmed, Callum Watson, Tasha Looney and Aaliyah Khan did very well in the public speaking competition on Saturday.  Aaliyah came second in the intermediate category and will be going on to represent Solihull and Arden in the regional competition in March with her excellent speech about equality. Mr Barr and I had the pleasure of listening to the team rehearsing before the competition and they really deserved to do very well. Congratulations to all of them.

Congratulations as well to Daniel Galloway, our champion ice skater, who came first in an Open Competition in Bradford, beating  ice skaters from across the country. We continue to wish him every success as he pursues his ambition in this demanding sport.

Many congratulations to Golden Book entrants this week – Jordan Schwartz, Alex Dyer  and  Ben Long for service to school, Joseph Tippett for his excellent progress in reading and Daniel Galloway for his skating achievements.

My best wishes to students and staff visiting Andorra this half term to ski and to everyone else for a relaxing and fulfilling half term break.
