Exciting events and lots of learning
All students have taken part in our second PSD day this week, becoming involved in a whole variety of activities and experiences which will help them develop as individuals. I was very impressed with the way all year groups tackled some very demanding topics relating to health and emotional well-being. Our visitors to school complimented our students on the way they engaged with the topics and asked mature and sensible questions.
Some of our year 8 and 10 musicians performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool this week to great acclaim, our cricketers are going to Edgbaston on Friday and many of our year 11s had the opportunity to see the fascinating play, “A curious incident of the dog in the nighttime” in support of their GCSE English studies.
Reading and books have been the source of great achievement and success this week as well. The following students will receive certificates for reading more than one, or in some cases, two million words as part of our accelerated reader programme: Aaliyah Khan, Eleanor Paddock, Joe Hickman, Esha Gul, Charli Sutton, Izzy Fahey and Hannah Garcia. The grand winners of our World Book day competitions are Lauren Stanton – for her wonderful poster and Charlotte Coyne – for her creative bookmark.
Many congratulations to these students and best wishes for a relaxing weekend.
