Compliments all round!

We have had many visitors in school this week and  they have taken the time to come and tell me just how wonderful our students are and what a lovely atmosphere  there is in school. The moderator for the product design  and resistant materials GCSEs was highly complimentary about the standard of work produced and the way in which the students were working.  All our year 11 students were congratulated on the way in which they conduct themselves in the examinations when the JCQ inspector did a spot check  on Wednesday.  Furthermore an advisor from Solihull LA told me how friendly and welcoming our students were when she spent the day in school on Thursday.  We are all very proud of our students  - they make Light Hall the great school it is; they are a credit to themselves and their families.

In addition to this I had the pleasure  of having lunch with lots of students on Tuesday – to congratulate them on their achievements and thank them for their service to the school. It was delightful to hear about what they have been learning and enjoying at school, as well as their plans for the half term break.

A good number of students have entered their names in the Golden book this week, they include Mariana D for her netball playing, Will G, Aatish C and Harry L for excellent work in English,  Jess R for geography, Kyle G for maths and Jamie J, Faysal H, Anessa K, Jacob B, Luke T, Rhys H, Taylor B, Jake H, Humaira K and Adam K for improvement in literacy skills.

Well done to all of these students and to all those who will be receiving their “star of the month” certificates this week.

My best wishes for a relaxing and fulfilling half term break.
